In Celebration of Solstice

Celebrate the arrival of summer 2008! Enjoy heavy hors d'oeuvres, open bar, silent auction, and Native American games in the Village. Tour the 800-year-old reconstructed Fort Ancient Village located on the bank of the Great Miami River. $75 per person, reservations required. Artifact Identification Day
Sunday October 5, 2008 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
Pull those shoeboxes full of artifacts out from under the bed and bring them to SunWatch to see what you have and learn how old they are. Dayton Society of Natural History archaeologists will help you identify those archaeological materials that have been gathering dust- arrowheads and spear points, axes, celts, bone tools, and whatever else you have. Artifact Identification Day is open to the general public and no advanced registration is required. Event runs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM; general admission fees apply, free for museum members. |
Miami Valley Native American Flute Circle Performs
Select Sundays, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
Enjoy traditional, and some not-so-traditional, Native American flute music. When possible the Flute Circle is accompanied by other area musicians as well. General admission fees apply, free for museum members.

Kid's Day at SunWatch SUMMER 2008
June 26, July 11, July 22, July 30, and August 7, 2008
The Kid's Day program is designed for day care/child care providers and summer youth camp groups with children age 5 and older. Special stations are set up throughout the village that include numerous hands on activities, demonstrations, games, and crafts. Admission includes a drink and take-home craft. Advance registration required. Fee: $6.00/person.
