Pre-K Summer Indian Lore Classes: Ages 4 and 5

June 12-15, 2012
9:00 a.m. to noon

Have fun learning the names and habitats of bugs, birds and animals through art, games, stories and natural expression.  Learn how the Indians lived: their food sources, music, dances, clothing, games and communication. Use hand signing or paint symbols on a piece of bark. Play Indian games: how far can you throw a pine cone or how fast can you run around a tree.  Make a drum and then learn how the Indians used it in their dancing or communication.  Learn how Indians tracked animals and which animals lived at SunWatch 800 years ago.

Summer Lore: Grades 1-3

Experience American Indian culture through hands on activities, crafts, games, and stories. Learn how archaeologists uncover the past and explore the prehistory of Ohio in our reconstructed village.

Archaeology Summer Camp: Grades 4-6

June 12-15, 2012
9:00 a.m. to noon
Participants will get to use their critical thinking skills during this course designed to challenge students by focusing on the ways archaeologists analyze and record finds.  The class is for children who love to solve a problem!

Fill out and mail in the registration/ consent form, call 937-268-8199, or visit SunWatch. Class levels are determined by the student's last grade completed, by the start of the program. The parental consent and health form sections MUST BE COMPLETED
for all students. Mail-in and walk-in registration is encouraged. All fees are due at the time of registration.

Fees: $50/week (Members), $60/week (Non-members)

Note: Refund requests made two weeks prior to the start of each class will be refunded in full; otherwise, a $25 cancellation fee will be deducted.
