Village and Interpretive Center |
|
SunWatch Indian Village offers exploration and learning both indoors and out. Visitors will enjoy watching an introductory film in the indoor theatre, viewing artifacts and learning about the history of the Village and its inhabitants in the Interpretive Center, and immersing themselves in the 800-year-old lifestyle by visiting the reconstructed structures, located in their original, exact locations. An enhanced audio tour of the grounds is available for a nominal fee.

Fees are per scout/per program. Fee covers activities, staff, and craft materials but does not include the actual scout patch/bead/pin, etc. (advancement materials available from scouts). A minimum of 8 scouts is required to hold a program. Programs times vary from 1½–2½ hours depending on topic and number of scouts participating. Program must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance, and a 50% deposit is required to hold the date. All programs follow the requirements as described in the scout guides for the GSA and BSA. (Instructors are registered with the BSA.) Explore the programs available at SunWatch.

SunWatch makes a unique stop for group tours serving the adult leisure markets. Our staff will offer step-on guide welcome services, and help to bring an 800-year-old Village to life for visiting groups. Our indoor Interpretive Center offers an introductory film, and allows visitors to immerse themselves in the culture and lives of the Fort Ancient people. The SunWatch Store boasts a diverse array of authentic and unique Native American crafts and wares.

SunWatch offers free, ample parking, an outdoor picnic shelter, indoor classrooms and meeting space and is handicap accessible. Visitor's are welcome to carry-in their own food. A beverage vending machine is available. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and personal checks with proper ID. |
